Full STEAM ahead, Calgary! Beakerhead is coming in hot, with the most epic, mind-blowing, science packed weekend of the year.
Have you ever seen a 360-degree kaleidoscope of sound, light, and colour with images transforming in seconds all created using AI? Or lit up the sky using only a bicycle? How about generating a beat with giant octopus tentacles? We bet you haven’t, but you can at Beakerhead 2024, taking place at TELUS Spark Science Centre from September 20 to 22, 2024!
This year's Beakerhead line-up will have you saying “WOAH,” with new experiences that unlock the imagination and spark curiosity, plus admission includes the opportunity to explore the entire science centre!
Not only are there three full days of programming that range from showcasing the skilled-trades, to playing with digital art and learning about fungi, but Beakerhead also offers unique dining choices and of course, the Beaker Bar! Guests will want a full stomach and a tasty cocktail when they see how much is in store for them this year!
DAY ONE of Beakerhead is jam-packed with programming the whole family can enjoy from live science demonstrations, to Baby Beakerhead and so much more, you'll want to be one of the FIRSTS to experience it all!
NIGHT ONE of Beakerhead is when the party really begins, as experiences light-up in the darkness and local DJ's set the vibe for an awesome time!
DAY TWO of Beakerhead features the same exciting experiences as Day One but this time, SQUONK takes the mainstage to get everyone involved in the Brouhaha fun!
NIGHT TWO is another classic Beakerhead party, but this time, keynote speaker Anthony Morgan, from CBC's The Nature of Things gets into how we talk, perceive and think about science in our everyday lives!
Don't sleep on DAY THREE of Beakerhead, because it's FILLED with a little bit of everything from the entire weekend. The big highlight? The Hack the House Challenge and an expert panel talk about the innovations in STEM (science, tech, engineering & math) featuring Anthony Morgan, from CBC's The Nature of Things!
