• • Can we reserve the room for more than 1.5 hours?

    Yes, you can! Birthday room rentals are $100/per hour, past the time included in the booking. Based on availability.

  • How many people can I invite?

    Spark's private studios will accommodate a maximum of 28 people (children and adults combined).

    Please note that only 20 people are included in the base party package. However, each additional person, over the included 20, is an additional $20 per person.

  • When is final payment due?

    Final payment is required on the Monday prior to the scheduled birthday party.

  • Can we bring our own catering/food?

    Spark's exclusive in-house catering is provided through the birthday menu and can be included in your booking. Outside food is not permitted at TELUS Spark Science Centre with the exception of cake and/or cupcakes. If you are bringing in your own cake, please bring everything you will need to serve it.

  • If we don't book the birthday room, is the admission cost the same?

    No, general admission rates will apply. Groups with 15 or more people will receive Group Admission rates. Call 403.817.6800 for more details

  • When do I need to confirm the final number for my birthday party reservation?

    Final numbers must be confirmed on the Monday prior to the scheduled birthday party, but we need to have an estimate at the time of booking.

  • Do members receive a discount on catering or studio rental?

    You bet! Spark Members receive a 10% discount on the base party package.

  • Do we have to book a party package to have a birthday party at TELUS Spark Science Centre?

    Birthday party packages are not required to celebrate your birthday with us. You are welcome to purchase General Admission for your party at the front desk when you arrive. Public eating areas are first-come, first-served, and outside food is not permitted, with the exception of cakes and/or cupcakes.

  • How do I make a birthday party booking?

    Email [email protected] to request a booking and get all your customizations ordered.

  • Can I decorate the room?

    The room already has a science and colour theme. You are welcome to bring other decorations. Restrictions include balloons, confetti, glitter, and piñatas, and nothing can be adhered to the walls. Any decorating and cleanup has to happen within your allocated booking time.

  • What should I expect on the day of?

    As the host, we recommend you arrive 20 minutes prior to your booking time, pick up your tickets at the front desk, and then someone from the birthday team will show you to your room. We expect hosts to distribute tickets to their guests. We recommend you give them a time to meet you and share your contact details in case they are running late.

  • How many adults should I invite?

    We recommend one adult for every 5 kids in elementary school years, and 1 for every 10 if older. Children need to be supervised when visiting the science centre.

  • Can I request a specific demo?

    Custom demos are not available at this time.

  • What does the birthday room look like?

    We have three rooms available, they are differentiated by the theme of their highlight wall: one is blue and shows moving waves, one is orange and based on cosmology, and another is pink/purple with pigs and math equations.

  • What is in the loot bags?

    The actual contents may vary week to week based on what we have in stock, but you will get three items inside. You are welcome to bring your own if you would like, but we can ensure it stays a surprise until you arrive on site!

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

    Please note that refunds are available up to two weeks prior to your selected birthday party date. All refunds within that time frame will be subject to an administrative fee of $50. Within the two week timeline no refunds will be provided.
