Community Connections Program
The Community Connections Program makes it possible for the science centre to partner with local social service agencies and not-for-profit organizations, providing access to those who may not otherwise be able to visit. By mobilizing with other organizations in the community, Spark is moving closer to achieving our defined purpose.

Through visits to Spark, and encounters with Spark in the community, people are lifted up by the positive power of curiosity, experimentation and problem-solving. When Spark is successful, it lifts up the whole community.
By partnering with local agencies and organizations, Spark strives to:
- Connect with more people in our community who are typically without means to fully participate
- Offer a safe place to explore and get hands-on with science, technology, engineering, art and math
- Offer a place for human connection and inspire visitors to seek other enriching opportunities based on their experiences at Spark
- Fuel the drive to pursue higher education in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math
Spark is a registered Canadian charity supported by admissions, memberships, donations, corporate sponsors and the City of Calgary. Spark can only consider requests that have strong connection to our mission and vision. Further, Spark receives a high volume of applications and, as such, we are not able to support the following:
- Religious organizations (except where they represent non-denominational community and social support services)
- Individuals
- Fully funded Government agencies
- Projects or organizations that are not located within and do not provide a service to the Southern Alberta community
- Competitive sports teams
- Political parties
- Advocacy or special interest groups
- Schools or parent associations
