We’re taking the science centre online, and everyone is invited.
Each day, when the Calgary science centre would throw open its doors to welcome the world, the enthusiastic staff were grateful for the opportunity to connect, create and solve together.
It was with a tremendously heavy heart that we closed our doors to the public to help #FlattenTheCurve. We were proud to follow the data, but we knew immediately that we’d miss interacting with YOU.
So we’re going to meet you where you live! Literally.
Starting today, we’ll be creating and sharing stories, speakers, experiments, and activities to brighten your day, keep minds young and old engaged and curious.
This global pandemic is showing us that science is more important than ever. Equally too are the human connections we homo sapiens need to thrive. So let’s connect over science and a giant dose of humanity.
What you’ll find:
- DIY science experiments and activities
- Virtual tours and exhibit updates from inside Spark (thanks to robots, and social distancing contraptions!)
- Online challenges
- A collection of news, stories, and resources with science centre credibility and flair
Have a request?
Launch it over to us and we’ll see what we can do!
Interesting fact: Trees grow stronger as a result of bending in the wind. Right now, as we all bend to the wind in this trying time, may we all emerge stronger too, with deep, connected roots.
