Fund Development Volunteer

Position Description

Did you know that TELUS Spark is a registered charity? Our Development team builds relationships with government, donors, and corporate partners to help ensure that Spark has the resources to operate. As a Fund Development Volunteer, you will assist with research, data collections and management, and applications and reporting. You will have the opportunity to contribute your strong administrative skills to help create the Spark!

Availability 

  • Schedule: shifts are flexible in length and can happen any day Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Commitment: two or more shifts per month; volunteering weekly is ideal
  • Mandatory volunteer orientation: April 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internet research
  • Data collection and management
  • Spreadsheet updates
  • Drafting stewardship reports and grant applications
  • Compiling cases for support and program fact sheets

Skills 

  • Familiarity with development databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, iWave, Grant Connect) an asset
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Passionate about research and contributing strong administrative support
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Likes working independently and with a team

Requisites

  • Police Clearance
  • Mandatory volunteer orientation: April 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
