Chief Experience Officer


Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

TELUS Spark is Calgary's science centre and a not-for-profit organization with a mission to bring people together to learn, play and create with science, technology, engineering, arts and math. They are excited by the next stages in their strategic development and seeking to expand the leadership team.

The Chief Experience Officer is a creative and innovative leader accountable for the development, design, delivery and operations of content in exhibits and public programming for a wide range of audiences both inside and outside of TELUS Spark. This includes both ensuring the integrity of scientific information, leading the effectiveness of design and fabrication, and the quality of the visitor interactions with exhibits, public programs and related activities. 

The ideal candidate has approximately 15 years of progressive experience in the field of exhibits and public programs, including but not limited to museums, zoological, aquarium, or amusement environments, with previous responsibility and authority for operational and business drivers, strategic development, budget, and fostering a culture of excellence around audience experience. Interested individuals will have related undergraduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, including team development and mentorship, coupled with an understanding of or exposure to the governance practices of a volunteer board of directors. Relationship development with community and stakeholders including the academic/education, business, and the not-for-profit sectors, is expected. 

The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $167,000 per annum and will be negotiated based on the candidate’s skills and experience.
